Quilpie Shire Council is located in South West Qld and Council is seeking a Media and Communications Officer to join the team, build the Quilpie brand, communicate the good news stories to celebrate the wins and successes.

The Council is well-regarded and the Mayor and Council are open-minded, willing to explore new ideas and initiatives and have a professional working relationship with the Shire Leadership Team.

Reporting to the CEO, the Media and Communications Officer will provide strategic media, communications and marketing direction to Council and the region. The position will engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide a planned and informed approach to communications.
• Produce high-quality content and maintain the Shire’s digital and social media channels.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative and effective communication and marketing campaigns.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders and team members to support Council’s activities, events and promotions.
• Develop and implement marketing and communication campaigns and plans in support of the Shire’s corporate and operational objectives.
• Liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders to provide strategic marketing advice.
• Prepare media releases, newsletters, publications, reports, speeches, briefing notes and support material as required.
